Our commitment

Alpha Health is committed to making our website, products, and customer experience accessible to people of all abilities. We believe digital accessibility is both a fundamental right and a business priority — when our site works for everyone, it works better for everyone.

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing process at Alpha. We audit, test, and improve continuously rather than ticking a one-time box.

Standards we follow

Our target conformance is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the web accessibility standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

We also design with these principles in mind:

  • Perceivable — information is presented in ways users can perceive (text alternatives, sufficient contrast, captions)
  • Operable — all functionality is available from a keyboard and within a reasonable time
  • Understandable — content is readable and predictable
  • Robust — content works with current and future assistive technologies

Accessibility features

We've built and continue to refine the following:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper landmarks (header, nav, main, footer)
  • Logical heading hierarchy on every page
  • Descriptive alt text for product images and meaningful graphics
  • Decorative images marked appropriately so they're skipped by screen readers
  • Full keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable without a mouse
  • Visible focus states on links, buttons, and form fields
  • Color contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG AA ratios for body text and UI controls
  • Form fields with associated labels, helpful error messages, and required-field indicators
  • ARIA attributes where native semantics aren't sufficient (dialogs, tabs, accordions)
  • Reduced-motion respect for users who prefer minimized animation
  • Responsive layout that adapts to zoom up to 200% without loss of content
  • Plain language wherever possible — we save the jargon for the science page

Assistive technology compatibility

We regularly test with:

  • Screen readers — VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows)
  • Keyboard-only navigation on all supported browsers
  • Browser zoom up to 200% in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • Voice control — Voice Control on macOS / iOS and Dragon NaturallySpeaking on Windows

Our site should work with most current assistive technologies on modern browsers. If you encounter issues with a specific tool or browser, please let us know.

Known limitations

We're transparent about what isn't yet fully accessible. Currently in progress:

  • Some legacy product imagery still has alt text being refined for context
  • The bioavailability bar chart on the Science page conveys information visually; we're adding a screen-reader-friendly data table as an equivalent alternative
  • The live theme switcher on the White Label page is being audited for screen-reader announcements when the theme changes
  • Some embedded third-party tools (analytics widgets, payment iframes) have accessibility gaps outside our direct control

These items are tracked and being remediated. Updated status is reflected here as fixes ship.

Third-party content

Some functionality on our site is provided by third parties — payment processors, analytics, customer support chat, and embedded videos. We choose partners that prioritize accessibility, but we don't always have direct control over their experiences.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier in third-party content, please report it to us — we'll work with the vendor to address it or offer an alternative way to complete the action.

Report a problem

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site, we want to hear about it. The more specific you can be, the faster we can address it.

Email: [email protected]

When reporting, please include if possible:

  • The page URL where the problem occurred
  • A description of the barrier and what you were trying to do
  • The browser, operating system, and assistive technology you were using
  • Any screenshots or recordings (optional but helpful)

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and provide a substantive response within 10 business days.
